Miniature Bullterrier

Witchend kennel is located on our beautiful 40 acre property situated at Mt Mee, Queensland, 1 hour north of Brisbane in the picturesque D’aguilar Ranges.

Our aim at Witchend is to breed quality miniature Bullterriers that are happy, healthy, and well adjusted, conforming to the highest standard and with awesome temperaments.

Over the years we have had quite a menagerie here at Mt Mee. At one time I owned and cared for 4 children, 7 horses, 22 goats, 5 cows, 1 sheep, 3 dogs, 2 cats, numerous chooks, ducks and geese,some goldfish and guppies, a couple carpet pythons, and a husband. I don’t recall a time when I haven’t owned a dog or three…. But when I got my first Bullterrier, a miniature, Dabews wee Forget Me Not, aka “Lizzy” my life changed.

I had fallen in love with a Bull Terrier. My partner Chris thought I was crazy. He also thought Lizzy was ugly, with a face like a bicycle seat! She quickly won him over with her crazy antics and lovable personality. He now fondly refers to her as “Queen Elizabeth”.

I was introduced to Dave and Anne Beioley when I went to Dabews .  Dave and Anne’s love of Miniature Bull Terriers is contagious. Their wealth of knowledge, gained over 50 years of breeding Bull Terriers, is enormous and shared so freely. Their encouragement, support, and guidance is invaluable.

In 2009 I inherited Dencardam Elite, AKA, “Lucy” and Dencardam Bitabiff, “Chopper”.

Then along came Dabews wee Valla, a hyperactive bouncing bundle of energy. She’s always busy and always wants to know whats going on and what you are doing.

In January 2010 Rhudanna Zahara,  AKA “Lola” joined the family. A lovely brindle and white interbred bitch that I had met at Dabews and taken quite a fancy to. Lola loves to be the centre of attention. She knows her own mind and has a “don’t rush me…I’ll do it when I’m ready” kind of attitude. She is still settling in but I think she would like to de-throne “Queen Elizabeth”!

Our mini Bullterrier are raised in a loving, relaxed and stress free family environment. With plenty of space to be themselves so their unique and very individual personalities shine through. Walks down to the creek and running through the rain forest, they commune with an abundance of native wildlife on our natural bush block. Wallabies, koalas, possums, echidnas, bandicoots and carpet snakes are frequent visitors. The Bullterriers interactions with the local scrub turkeys are a constant source of amusement. Snake proof puppy kennels and runs keep pups safe outside until they are older and more able to develop an awareness and respect for our very beautiful, and often hungry native carpet pythons.
